Dr Alice Mackenzie - Physiotherapist at Integrated Pelvic Physiotherapy

Dr Alice Mackenzie

Alice graduated with a Bachelor of Exercise Science in 2009 and a Doctor of Physiotherapy in 2011 from Bond University on the Gold Coast. Alice's research has focussed on the side effects of chemotherapy and the physiotherapist’s role in treatment.

Alice’s career started as a locum physiotherapist on the oncology wards of the Mater Adults Hospital in Brisbane. She then worked through her New Graduate position rotating throughout the acute wards and outpatient clinics of the Mater Adult’s, Mother’s and Children’s Hospitals. It was in being exposed to varied disciplines of Physiotherapy that Alice gained a passion for Obstetrics, Women’s Health and Oncology. She then accepted a position as a Women’s Health Physiotherapist within the Mater Mother’s Hospital where her passion for empowering women and mothers, antenatal education and exercise based rehabilitation flourished.

Alice enjoys treating antenatal and postnatal women, pelvic floor dysfunction, exercise based rehabilitation and breast dysfunction including mastitis, complications post cancer treatment and manual lymphatic drainage.

Alice grew up in Melbourne where she attended Tintern Girls Grammar School and in her final year was successfully awarded a scholarship to attend Bond University. Alice was a competitive equestrian eventer, competing at a State and National level representing Victoria in the EFA. Growing up, she had the best of both worlds; being involved in her family’s beef and sheep properties and winery in South Gippsland, Victoria.
